You could have it laser welded then reshaped which wouldn't be prohibitively expensive but you'd need to find a specialist who can do such work. Omega themselves will only replace a damaged part like that.

The chip will dull some with time. Personally I think it adds character!

Don’t worry, you will hit the watch against something else and forget all about the mark on the bezel 😉

its all about symmetry, you have to make the same chip to the remaining sides of the bezel now.

Thanks . You think it will ?
Yes, stainless steel definitely tones down after a while and marks like this lose some of their twinkle and shine!

Sorry, but from looking at the pictures, this watch is nowhere near "in mint condition". The only option is new bezel.

I'm not going to tell you anything you haven't heard. The bezel isn't available separately from the insert or vice versa and isn't available to you if you aren't an Omega authorized service provider. Even though the bezel/insert+replacement cost is expensive, it's probably cheaper than bezel/insert removal+bezel disassembly+suitable repair+insert reinstallation+bezel/insert reinstallation. You have to hope the insert survives then, too.

One option is to send it to repair with Omega which means they will do a full service which will be more than $700, or whatever they're asking now+bezel/insert cost. The other option, if it really bothers you, is to find an Omega authorized independent that will purchase the part for you and install it.

To me, the mark doesn't my really bother me. Depending on the age of the watch, however, maybe it's time to send it in anyway for a service, if it really bothered me that much.

This gives me a newfound appreciation for the design of the bezel - I imagine it is steel at the edges specifically so it can take a hit and not crack the ceramic, which would actually require the bezel to be replaced. A knock like this on something like the previous iteration of the Rolex Daytona, ref 116500, would have cracked the entire bezel - as it had no steel to take the impact (rectified on the current ref 126500).

OP, your watch was designed to take such a beating - view the dent as a testament to good design! It is also really small and not going to be noticeable after a few months of normal wear and tear, as others have pointed out.

Laser welding is the cheaper option. As mentioned by some, the other option is to go authorised repair personnel who has access to omega parts - the number of people who have omega accounts are dwindling. I will live with until the next full service in omega where they offer option of replacement at cost.

As soon as you get it repaired, I bet you get another nice dent or chip. It's part of the immutable karmic laws of watch ownership.

I say ignore it, enjoy the watch, and deal with it in a few years when you inevitably have to get the watch serviced.

Such a shame too, if it wasn't for that one scratch that thing would be mint and probably worth close to 100 grand.

Agreed. Often the first mark is the hardest.

Just wear it...it is inevitable that it will get scratched & dinged up. When you send it in for your first service, they will make that watch look as good as new again...don't sweat it!
