Dear members,

Good evening!

Just received the call. Next Monday will stop to the Omega boutique to try the new Ultra deep.
Can't wait.

Congratulations! Please share some pictures once you get it.

My local Longines dealer just got in a blue dial GMT. Says it looks similar to the blue 75th Omegas. I hope to get over there this week for a peek.

The San Francisco OB had the Diver 300M and the 41mm Aqua Terra on a blue rubber strap available when I stopped by yesterday.

I have to give Longines credit. Their new HydroConquest GMTs look pretty sharp.

You must try the 37mm gmt. It's a great purchase.

I've been invited to my AD's launch of this range in Edinburgh. Finally will get to see them in the flesh

I somewhat doubt this. The gradient color allows the 75th annis to play with light a bit differently. That's no criticism of the longines, which looks quite nice in your photo.

Which dealer is this?

The Longines has a sunburst, which plays with the light. But it's not a gradient like the Omega. I haven't seen the Omega blue in person but it wouldn't surprise me to find that Omega has more variety and depth. However, seeing the Longines, the hue of the blue might be similar.

This is a pair of images shared by jgdill on watchuseek- he had his ad fit his watch to a Navy strap from a Seamaster diver chronometer (it was a struggle to get on). The top image was taken outside, likely with indirect sunlight and clouds in the sky; the bottom picture was taken inside, possibly under fluorescent or mid to high k LED.

That Longines looks nice- in fact I'll say I think it is a beautiful shade of blue, perhaps slightly lighter than maybe the ploprof tone. I definitely don't think it is going to show the range of dynamic color that I have seen from the Ultra deep, Planet ocean, diver, or heritage (I haven't seen the ploprof in person unfortunately).

There's probably another dial out there that does something similar to the summer blue dials, but I haven't seen it.

Good to know. Looks like they're back out of stock on omega's website.

Keep in mind the 75th anniversary watches from Omega all have different hues of blue depending on the depth rating of each watch (with UD being the darkest). I look at that Longines and just think nice watch, but it doesn't remind me of the Omega 75th Seamasters.

Dear Omega fans,
Do you heard a rumors or maybe know something and can share: when to expect a new generation of SMP 300? Few last generations was launched in 6-year period range.

Thank you for your comments

I think the issue is each generation had new tech or a new movement or a new feature to bring, first Cal 2500, then ceramics, then Cal 880p. There’s no indication of a new Calibre any time soon, and if there were it would probably be to incorporate the spirate hairspring which is still yet to hit the market at all.

On that basis I think we’re going to see a slower evolution rate and more variants instead.
