Seamaster 321 advice

Hi guys,

I was offered this Seamaster Cal. 321 (105.005-65), but I’m quite wary of these watches, due to the growing popularity of the movement.

I couldn’t find too many reference photos to compare either… there are very few on eBay.

I didn’t find anything wrong with the text on the dial. The dial itself is in pretty good condition, only with very small bubbles due to aging/humidity. I’d give it 8/10. Hands look fine too. Crystal is signed. Comes with original strap too.

Movement looks pretty clean to me. Apart from that, I’m no 321 connoisseur.

I see that these go around $8k, so anything below that should be a decent deal for me, right?

Any advice/comment would be appreciated.

8k is a very strong price on a 321 Seamaster

There are a few... ambitiously priced Seamaster 321s for sale at the moment. I'd say that 6K was strong too.

Yuck. That dial, although genuine, is way too beat up for even a $4k watch, I think.

For a couple of years, I followed these, looking for a reasonable nice one.

First was this, for about $4k without the bracelet.

About a year later, I found this one for only $3.5k, with the bracelet.

The lesson I drew was to be patient and picky with these.

Thank you all for the contributions! I might wait for a better specimen as some advised.
