Seamaster 321 - too many downsides on this one?

Hi everyone, the seamaster chronographs have always had a soft spot but unfortunately not always easy to find.
I came across this one which is far from perfect, but with still an attractive dial. Lugs have become soft, as do the bottom of the pushers. It's goldfilled and I think I could live with it. Also the pitting at the caseback and it has damage on the edges, which is not really nice but I'm ok.

With respect to the dial and the movement, do you see any red flags? I'm still checking the serial number, from the photo it's either way 15xxx or 19xxx, the latter would seem too late for me.

All in all i'm interested in it, if sold at a good price (i.e. 3-3.5k eur), but curious to hear your thoughts.

Biggest downside for that one is the price.
What would be reasonable from your pov? I have seen good examples being sold for 5k-9k, my first impression was that 3-3.5k was still okish, not perfect, but ok.

If the case has the plating totally intact that’s a reasonable price for a very early if not the first seamaster chronograph reference.

Yes.. but in my opinion the early models, without the c case, with alpha hands.. are to me a completely different breed
Exactly!

Appears to be gold-capped to me.
Thanks! I have no clue how I could see that, but I've asked the dealer why he thinks it is (he specifically mentioned this as a reason why despite the bumps it had, it still has a gold layer visible). The key one being this one at the top lug

This is reference KO2907 and seems all good to me. If you can live with all those scars, then 3k is definitely good price for it. There is also stainless steel versions ref 14360.

Seller just came back to me that the serial is 189xxxxx which would put it in 1961. This seems very late to me - can I assume it's been transplanted from a later model?

You can see that the backs of the lugs are SS.
