Title: Seamaster 300 Ref. 2913-7 - Seeking Complete Replacement Bezel (Wearable Solution)

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping to tap into the collective expertise here regarding a long-owned piece of mine.

I have an Omega Seamaster 300 ref. 2913-7, which I purchased new in the early 1960s. The watch has strong sentimental value, and I would very much like to return it to wearable condition.

The challenge: the watch is missing its bezel entirely (no ring or insert).

I recently had the watch serviced through Omega/Swatch Group in Switzerland, but as expected, they were unable to supply a replacement bezel.

To be clear, I am not looking for an original bezel. I fully appreciate how scarce and costly those are. My goal is simply a well-fitting, good-looking, sympathetic replacement that allows the watch to be worn and enjoyed again.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on:

  • craftsmen who can fabricate a complete bezel (ring + insert), or
  • sources for high-quality reproduction or adaptable solutions
  • any members who have gone down this path with a 2913
I’m very happy to provide photos, measurements, or send the watch to a trusted specialist if needed.

Thank you in advance—I would truly value any advice or leads.

Best regards,
Fred Jones

I suggest that you buy a legit old bezel, which will inevitably be missing the inlay, and have an inlay manufactured by one of the usual suspects (Rene/Aldo/McGuyver).

Hello Dan, Thank you for your response and suggestion. I suspect it will take a very long time for me to find a legit old bezel as there appears to be very few coming on the market for such a watch of this vintage. It likely could take years to locate one from what I have seen unless you know of a possible source. I really am getting old (84 this year) and don't have years to wait. It would be nice to wear the watch again as it has been serviced in Switzerland at the vendors, Swatch.
Best regards, Fred

There is 2913 FS on Chrono24 from Germany with clean service bezel. Buy the watch and put bezel on yours and you can wear and enjoy it right away.
You can sell the donor one without the service bezel let somebody else have the project.

Sometimes instant happiness is worth the cost.

Thank you for this suggestion. I never thought of this method and for me this makes so much sense for me. I assume any model 2913 would work on mine which is a 2913-7 and the others may be one such as 2913-3 or 2913-8. Thanks for this idea. Greatly appreciated!

Hi Dan, It has been suggested I buy a similar watch with a bezel, use that bezel on my watch and sell the donor watch without a bezel. This could be a way to obtain an appropriate bezel relatively quickly. Make sense?

Is this bezel ok for you?

Thank you for this suggestion. I think I will try and buy a similar watch with a bezel which I can use on my watch and then resell the donor watch. This appeals to me a possible quick fix. I appreciate your suggestion and this posting informs me of what a bezel without the inlay is worth.

Absolutely, that's another perfectly good approach. Just confirm that the watch is good and legit, because I presume you be planning to resell it.
