And 1966 was the last good footballing (soccer) year for the English.... 😉

Interesting. I'm English on my mother's side (grandpa = Winston, grandma = Catherine, uncle = Raymond, mom = Elizabeth) and I was born in 1966. Coincidence? I offer this up as evidence too: I was born on May 6th and live in New Jersey. The Hindenberg crash was on May 6th in NJ. Hmmmmmm......

Dsio........Honered by your comment. The watch enjoyed an inside desk job for 46 years and I'am almost sure it has never seen water.......hence it's fine shape.

It is just gorgeous.

An already beautiful watch becomes even more attractive with the superb bracelet. It is rather strange, I love to see a vintage-watch with a vintage bracelet. However, I have never worn any watch with a metal bracelet, so far. I think, I must have missed something good.

Thank-you.

This another very attractive watch, too. It is not easy to get one like this, nowadays.

Most of them are in hiding, I reckon.

Thank-you.

The vintage bracelet (1039) or (1171) are lighter than one would think Also they have a vintage klank (or rattle) that some love and others do not. I for one love the vintage klanks....and find great comfort in these straps.👍

I am trying to learn the model ref for bracelets, even though I have always worn my watch with a leather-band.

What model ref is your bracelet, by the way?

I know of a friend who has worn his 120m of the 70s, with a bracelet. Recently I saw it bracelet-less.

Thank-you.

Omega bracelets, straps............ http://www.ofrei.com/page1280.html

I appreciate the link.

As I was scanning through the various bracelets and their descriptions, I was startled to discover those Omega bracelets are made in Hong Kong.

Is there any difference between a vintage bracelet, presumably then Swiss made, and the current bracelet made in HK?

Thank-you.

I am unable to copy and paste the section that says, 'Omega Speedmaster Bracelet 1171-000' and amongst others, the description says: '....... Omega does not stamp items with country of origin, however we understand that this bracelet like a few others supplied by Omega is made in Hong Kong by Omega. .....'

Thank-you.

Oh.......I see. Omega has outsourced but the none the less by Omega standards......should make no differance........still Omega genuine, and I submit there would be no differance between the strap made by Swiss or a factory outsourced by a Swiss company.
