Seamaster 300 - does it work on womens wrists

So I just fell in move with the SMP 300 in the new green color.

I like big watches and find that the submariner and styles like that suit my style very well.
Im 5’9 and my wrist size is around 6,3’ so bigger watches tend to fit me.

My only problem is that the green dial SMP is not readily available for trying on and other than that we dont have and Omega store near where I live so I cant even go and try on another color just for size reference.

And my only small concern about this watch is that Im not a fan of the bracelet and Im not sure if the size / style of the watch combined with the green rubber strap will simply be too overwhelming.

And there are no reviews from women about this particular watch.

What do all think… have you seen it work on a womans wrist. Also with the rubber strap?

And if any of you women on this forum own the SMP 300 I would LOVE some wrist shots of it

All input would be very much appreciated.

I never paid much attention to how large my wrist is. About 5.5 or so inches. I think I am of similar height. I can not speak to the newer dive styles as I incline to vintage. I have no issue wearing my speedmaster pro. I was surprised that the Seamaster chronostop might be slightly larger.

Edit: I also prefer leather or cloth bands. I find the metal bands to large and heavy for my taste.

This is not a specific answer to your question, but a general suggestion that has been helpful for me, because I also don't live in a big city. I wonder if you might be able to attend a watch group get-together. It can be a great place to meet other watch enthusiasts and handle watches you might not otherwise see.

My wrist is about the same size as yours.

The maximum lug to lug I can get away with is about 47mm. Seamaster lug to lug is 50mm. Unless you have a very oval wrist, the watch is going to hover and keep trying to drift to the pinkie side. The Seamaster is quite heavy, so the overall wearing experience is going to be somewhat uncomfortable.

The only saving grace with women is that size is less of an issue, because people actually appreciate the "boyfriend watch" look (somewhat misogynist I know, but it's a thing).

Ultimately looks is probably less of an issue, comfort may actually be the biggest problem.

I think your question about whether the green SMP 300 is overwhelming on a green strap is relevant for women and men alike. I too fell for this watch and have been on a waitlist since it was announced, with no luck so far. I did get to try it at an AD (the watch was already spoken for) and it was beautiful. It’s a much subtler green than the one used in the Rolex Hulk, for example. I for one would love to see this on a woman’s wrist, and would gladly share it with my wife, but she favours smaller watches such as my Speedy reduced.

Jay is an associate at Topper's in Burlingame CA and frequently post pics of her in traditional men's size sports watches. She is a very petite woman and I can't imagine you having a smaller wrist than she does. I'm looking now and a quick glance shows pics of her in various Omega sport models including a 300m NTTD (which is the same case as the green one you like). I'd give it a peep.

From the pics I've seen, the SMP looks lovely on a lady's wrist. As long as you don't mind a larger sized watch.

Here's another example.

It's all personal taste, but I personally feel those watches look a bit ridiculous on her wrist. Frankly, most of them would look silly on my medium sized wrist (nearly 7"). The oversized watch style has been popular, but I can't help thinking it is on the way out and will look very dated in a few years, like shoulder pads and baggy "Flashdance" sweatshirts.

And here I was hoping that I was a trend setter. I have been into things (like steampunk) way before such things were trendy. And I did wear my speedy often back in the day at apple in the late 1990s. The chronostop is often my daily beater. I see there is a lot of wear on the band from decades of wearing. These are practical useful working watches.

I also find it interesting the difference in the angles, Wrist shots verses a model shot. Not all of us look like models. I actually like to think (given the recent photographs of me in Victorian dress.) I look more like a fairy godmother. So age also can also be a factor.

I suppose the difference if one is using the watch or if they are selling the watch. Then when does selling the watch become using the watch?

Nothing really goes out of style...

Don't forget that many cell phone cameras have a wide angle effect at close range, making things appear bigger than they actually are in real life and slightly out of proportion with the background features

Prince of England wears a 36mm. Regular size guy… looks ok on wrist.
Yet I wear a 41mm and that’s about big enough for me… I’m a good sized guy and a 7.1/4 wrist.

To big of a watch… Looks to “Showy” for me

Is there a watch in that pic?

Agreed......

I don't think it looks too big. I mean, it's not a dress up watch, but the OP is 5'9" so I think it would be fine on a rubber strap. However the non tapered bracelet might seem a little funny, so if she prefers a bracelet , I'd look at an aftermarket from US or Forstner.

Unfortunenately the Omega bracelets just dont really do it for me. Except the mesh one in stainless steel… I think that one could work very well with this model and color.
I would actually also wear this watch more formally - not on the rubber strap ofcourse.

But it seems this model is difficult to get your hands on right now.

I knew someone would go there. Try this version.

Not sure if the proportions of the watch is correct in size the that individual.

Well, maybe in first photo. Yet still not correct

The elbow is not shown, so it's possible that her arm goes out of the photo and someone else put their arm in front with the watch.

It’s possible, yet they look real to me… “The arms together ,as hers”.
