Seamaster 300 Bracelet

Possibly not the correct forum, as mine is a Watchco type build so not vintage, but I've got a Seamaster 300 on an 1171.633 bracelet. I'm not that fond of this bracelet, as I find it feels a bit flimsy and was wondering what Omega alternatives will work with this watch.

Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll take a look at those. I alternate it between a couple of NATO’s and the bracelet. I love the look of it on a bracelet though, and it’s getting a lot more wrist time since the switch, even with a bracelet I’m not that keen on, so I’d like to get one that feels a bit more substantial.

Does anyone know if any of these other bracelets have a more substantial feel than the 1171, or do they all have that light feel to them?

Actually, I’ve just seen the prices on those bracelets, don’t think I need an answer!

Actually the 1171 is considerably more substantial feeling than the earlier ones.

I believe some of the more modern Omega 20-mm bracelets have been successfully adapted. Probably a thread or two already somewhere here on the forums.

My favorite is the 1175. It's flat linked like older and very expensive ones, and better than 1171.
One was sold for 225 the other day: ebay item 292267376358

Yes these are really nice imo, also take a look at shark mesh bracelets which are super comfortable and strong.

My Watchco came on a 1171/633. If you just don't like it, fair enough as personal tastes differ but they are more robust than you might think. I've been wearing mine for rough hill walking for the past couple of years and it's stood up very well.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm considering trying a modern generic machined steel bracelet and seeing how that works out. I've done this with a couple of seikos in the past and been quite impressed with them. I just find the 1171 bracelet feels a bit cheap in comparison to the rest of the watch which lets it down a bit. I realise this is just a result of the fact that its an old design and was probably the height of quality in its day. Either way, I'm going to give it another week or two and see if I can get used to it.

In saying that, I've wanted to get a mesh strap on something for a while (I've a bit of a dive watch collection) so this might be the one for that. The only question is third party or OEM...

The OEM one is a seatbelt buckle style and takes some getting use to to attach the two ends. The Staib version I posted earlier is German made and excellent quality.

Because they are lighter, vintage omega bracelets feel cheap.. They are anything but cheap.. Modern omega bracelets are made in China? Maybe stronger but the old ones are more than capable of doing their intended function and have a handmade feel of quality.. You don't need weight if you use fine steel made well like your example.. You would be downgrading IMO.

Both 47 and 640 endlinks work with 1175

1965 SM 300 on Geckota 316 SS unpolished shark mesh. I thought the unpolished would look more "tool watch" but I actually prefer the polished version.
