Seamaster 2254.50 - Chrono24

This is my first post so please be gentle! I have been looking at buying my first Omega, specifically a 2254.50 and have been chatting with a dealer on Chrono24. The example he is offering is in “wonderful condition” and comes with papers, box and manual. It seems excessively expensive (£3.5K) compared to a lot of the other examples I have seen on EBay, Watchfinder etc. I would be really grateful for an expert opinion on whether I am paying too much. Many thanks in advance.

Watchcharts.com shows a current range of $2,722 - $3,653 with an average sale price of $3,188. These figures are in USD. So yes, the watch that you are looking at is very expensive by comparison.

Thanks. It was the most expensive example I had looked at. I assumed it was due to the condition, box, papers etc.

It's a simple thing, but when I see a sales photo like that with the bezel misaligned, it leads me to puzzle if its deliberate cos the top marker does not correctly align with the 12 0'clock marker? Maybe not, but it does set bells ringing. Its something that is easily avoided when listing.
