Who else has this piece and loves it? My collection currently consists of:

    1. Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic - one of the first nice watches I owned and holds a lot of sentimental value.
    2. Omega Seamaster 300M Silver Dial - my favourite in the diver range and daily wearer.
    3. Omega Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds - purchased this one last year and will likely be parting with it soon, but my is it an absolutely beautiful piece.

I’ve not seen many of them in the wild. Any owners on here? What are your thoughts on it?

I have been a lurker of this forum for some time but decided I should join and contribute finally!

Thanks Jeelan. It’s certainly a firm favourite on mine in terms of design!

I really like the looks of this watch. I love the vintage inspired styling, and I prefer the sub-second hand to the center sweep. The sub-second seems to let my eye flow farther up the hour and minute hands with less interruption.

My main complaint, and what felt just somehow not "right" on my wrist was the thickness of the watch. At 38mm, I hoped for more of a vintage feel, but it say just a bit chunky on my wrist. I do love the look, just couldn't love the feel at that price point. That said, feel is subjective, and this was probably perfect to the next guy who put it on his wrist.

Agreed with all of this its a lovely watch but dragged down by thickness and price.

With many vintage Omega Seamaster floating around, I am unsure why a “reissue” was made at a price point that is 20 or 30x over. Having said that, I think the watch looks nice with the vintage feel except perhaps for the thickness which understandably may be due to the new coaxial movement.

I really considered the 1948 too, but same as others noted, thickness, cost and in my opinion the horrible etched case-back.

But it’s still a beautiful watch... anyway I got a similar inspired vintage handwound and really enjoy it.

I am curious about how you like that watch and why you want to sell yours.

A favorite in terms of aesthetics, but as others have said the dimensions/size and cost were detractors for me. Maybe sometime down the road on the used market.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't buy this because of the thickness. Omega, are you listening?

Beautiful watch. Considered buying one, but the case back put me off.

@Cap Your photos of this watch are really beautiful. I do love this piece quite a bit, and normally I love chunky watches but this would have been so much better for me as a manual wind and get rid of that space-occupying rotor. I agree with the others that the caseback graphics are not to my taste. I thought (hoped) it was a removable decal when I first saw these.

I looked at this but can’t justify it. The dial crown and layout are perfect. decal on the back is slightly embarrassing and the proportions somehow make it slightly dull. It I tried it on even, but it had no wow, particularly for the money. It seems modern movements push up the overall size of watch due to the movement height, and this needed to be sleeker. However eterna made fantastic thin watches in the 60s and jlc make them now, so I don’t quite get it. The montblanc heritage also look nice but I don’t like the movements

I have one of these as well and love the dial and hands. Just a very classy watch. It’s the dress watch of my collection and I don’t get to wear it as much as I’d like to.

Not knocking your choice but it wasn’t quite for me. Looks great in your picture. In the end this is probably my grail But still can’t quite justify it to myself

Small second is the Mother of all seamasters. It looks and wears great. And for the price it is one of those LE that offers vintage vibe with modern technology plus full package of goodies so comparing to Ed White it is a steal ;-)

    Love this watch

First time I put it on when buying I was surprised at how small it wore.

The leather starts out very tough and I had to wear it too tight for 2 weeks until the strap contoured and it sat snug on the wrist. Otherwise it had a tendency to sit a bit tall.

But I absolutely love it. It has a look that very few if any, to me, modern watches have. Fantastic movement. Just brilliant.

    Beautiful finish on the dial
JLC style markers # finished beautiful
    Hands finished very nice too
Love the simplicity and train track minute track
    Everything just works for me

    Perfectly simple.

@Bp1000 really do like the watches despite my critiques and especially the dial. My 2nd and 3rd vintage purchases were inspired by the 1948. Originally I wanted a waffle version like this 1950's Omega Seamster,

    1950's Omega Seamaster Waffle Dial.jpg

But couldn't source one of the same condition so ended coming across these two... and very happy with them too,
