Hi All,
What are the chances of finding a correct set of hands for the above 1960 Seamaster?
I am looking at buying one but it has the wrong hands. I don't mind the ones fitted and I am going to wear the watch as a daily wearer.
Thanks in advance
Les

Many of these references came with several dial/handset combinations, so you should show photos of what you are looking for.

I thought I would move this post back to the top to see if anyone can help.

This is what you need to do

Were the above hands ever supplied with this watch? I don't mind them, they are proportionally correct and visibility is good, but I haven't seen another Seamaster of this family with them. I have a 70's Geneve with these same hands.

I'd describe @Spruce 's hands as Alpha and not leaf. These together with dauphine would be correct for 14700/14701 references depending on period of production. The early production have the alpha's

Thanks @cristos71, I remember when I got it I googled various hands and thought I’d identified them but your chart is cristos clear 😉.

However, by pure chance, my hands are in entirely the correct 10:2 position to match the diagram.

I would also usually expect alpha or Dauphine with those tapered markers. The straight hands with black/onyx filled sections don't seem correct.

Thank you,
I thought as much.
Are genuine hands hard to come by?

It can take some hunting. You need hands with the right diameter center holes and also the right length. If necessary you can have them re-lumed to match the color of the lume on the dial.
