    Hi there,

A couple of weeks ago I asked for opinions on vintage seamaster 120 watches

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/your-thoughts-on-seamaster-120s.41238/#post-482519

needless to say, I got great help and was steered towards an older thread of "all you need to know about 120's thread here on OF"

and based on that I did my due dilligence:

MAKE SURE BEZEL IS OPAQUE AND HAS THE WEIRED FAT "4" (BIDIRECTIONAL NO CLICKS)

    check!

SHALLOW HYPOCAMPUS MONSTER WITH "SEAMASTER - 120"; BULGE IN THE CASEBACK ON AUTOMATICS
    [IMG]

(hard to see on the photo - but check!)

APPLIED LOGO, "AUTOMATIC" WIDER THAN OMEGA, TRITIUM "T" @ 28 AND 32 SECONDS, VERY SPECIFIC FAT HANDS

    check!

HOPEFULLY UNPOLISHED, SIGNED CROWN, SIGNED GLASS

    +/- check!

NOTCH! ... WE NEED A NOTCH AT THE 3 AND 9 POSITION OF THE CASE! NO NOTCH-NO JOY (FAKE)

    check!

    ;)

so, once again, a heartfelt THX for the fine community of OF that is for me more important than any insurance when buying vintage Omegas!!!!

    Very happy today!
    cheers, Al

Very nice 165.027. The auto no date is tough to find. Congrats!

Hi there, just to finish the story off ...

unfortunately the watch went back to the seller ... the movement was really in poor shape ...

    - gained 20 min per day
    plus
    - had rotor axle wobble (circular rotating traces easily seen on the movement plate)
    plus
    - crown came lose ... (and when I say came lose, i mean it fell off) :D

I guess I'd have put up with EITHER the first or the last, but all 3 were too many issues - and some time ago I swore to myself to never buy a project watch because that is "buying problems" :whipped:

so ... kinda unhappy end here ... (but no financial loss, so I guess I shouldn't bitch too much)

Really bad luck, sorry to hear that.

I have the 565 version and these are becoming harder to find at a reasonable price. You see people asking two thousand for these now when they're in good condition. The problems it had might add a few hundred to the service but, I'd always bank on a service anyway.

Best of luck with finding one.

    Cheers, Chris

Nooo....All fixable issues. Tough to find good, honest 120s anymore... :(
