I’m still trying to reconcile between the supposedly superior bubbly-dialled blackened-lume patina versions and the less desirable restored versions…!

Almost all the “unmolested” originals are in a pretty ropey state as they were used for the purpose they were designed for. So, scratched crystals, broken, chipped bezels, splotchy blackened lume and bubbled up dials are par for the course - and part of the charm for many. Will find some photos later!

And just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

There's something to be said for those vintage divers. They're re daring in the design, definitely have character, recognizable from across the room, and look like they're jumping out of a print ad of a magazine. Wasn't even remotely thinking about one of these until I stumbled across this thread. And down the rabbit hole we go.

Now where's my damn Ploprof at.
