Seachero or Ranchmaster?

I assume you’re referring to the hands?

The price is crazy for a SM300 in that condition, but the hands might not be wrong. I read somewhere that arrow hands seem to pop up on some watches from the Italian market. At some point, it was confirmed in a catalogue photo.

That being’s said, i’ve never seen anything confirming these hands on a big triangle. I always assumed it was some sort of early variant, but this is the second time i’ve seen the combination without any additional details.

I knew about these rumours 😉 concerning these hands..... but never saw one before. And esp. no (later) big triangle...
Would be interesting to know the date of this ad.

Ah, big triangle is new to me too. To my knowledge this hand configuration just appeared on the early 165.024-63 execution, just in Italy and just ina narrow serial range.

Nico

edit. Just saw it’s a 64 case. The big triangle wasn’t introduced before around 68, wasn’t it? Also the bezel looks later. So a total build together in my eyes.

The Ad is also from 1964. I think I agree it is likely built together. However, its an interesting matchup considering the arrow hands are more valuable and it’s relatively “easy” to find sword hands.

Here is a photo of the other one I saw. Also a Big Triangle and has a later bezel, but from a USA seller who claims to have had it for at least 20 years. I’d be interested to see if both watches are originally from Italy.

Not saying that the broad arrow hand isn't legit Omega, but it's definitely not from a Ranchero. The arrowhead is too small, on a Ranchero hand there would be a large area of lume, and the arrowhead is also not the correct shape.

That is interesting, gbesq!
Take a look at the broad arrow hand on my Ranchero for comparison. Quite different.

I think he just made a name up, for the similarities 😉 the hands are clearly the ones from a 165.014 Seamaster reference:

I kind of figured as much, just thought that I would weigh in just in case. The hand also looks very similar to some of the arrowhead hour hands used on the Aqua Terras and the Planet Ocean.
