·They do turn up occasionally but be careful to get the correct set. The last set I saw sold for around €800 but who knows you may get lucky

the white dial variant is sooo different and the black one on a bor is just great. but in all honesty I am really not a big fan of snap backs.

·No, was not sold to a military unit. It was not issued to the Navy. It was sold privately to a sailor in the Navy Duty Free shops.... Big difference. Kind regards. Achim

·It’s still a nice collectible watch in honest condition, from what I can see in the photos. Nice EOA showing a military connection, which is a little different too so maybe add interest to prospective buyers

·Much of the 2990 Ranchero’s value over the 2937 Seamaster “Seachero” has to do with it being the so called fourth Musketeer of the 1957 trilogy watches with which it shares the broad arrow hour hand. It’s also relatively rare because of its short production run. There are few existing examples that haven’t been redialed, relumed or altered in some way (eg, hands replaced), so that has increased the value of fully original examples in good condition. The 36mm flat case backed 2990 also wears like a dream.
