there are many small shipping companies in the nyc / airport vicinity that have their own deals with air and other freight costs. shipping A takes to shipping B.....shipping B may take to nearby airplane or it may take another stop to do so.

quite a few of these people involved in the shipping biness are usually less educated and are stereotypical of generalizing people in the nyc boroughs. sorry to generalize, but the sketch level is high.

to make a very long story short. i've seen first hand how they do it. in fact i was even offered in on the deal to take one of the very watches that i was shipping for somebody else (4 pateks!) obv to be a fall guy.

needless to say none of the watches made their final european destination, and i was questioned.

Whatever happened to the Nomos happened after it was loaded onto an official FedEx truck (on the security video). My uniquely stickered box was loaded up, and a different box with an obviously moved and damaged label showed up.

What did you have to do in order to prove to the insurance company that you had in fact shipped the watch and not said potato chips?

I had it professionally packed up and sealed, and my box had not been tampered with before leaving on the truck.

Good luck. Strange to scam from a country like Iceland. Chances you get caught are quite big with such a small population and the fact it's a Island with a good administration system.

Stranger to reuse the same forum names after being caught.

What did he do, send people the real thing?
Like a Robin Hood! Steals fakes on replica forums and replaces with the originals stolen on the omega forums 😉

Any progress???

After seeing other people's responses and a post that shows another person getting scammed from the exact same address, I'd say unfortunately its a scam. Sorry to hear OP.

Man, really sorry to hear you’re going through this.

For others who go through one of these trades through the mail, I always recommend essentially just cross selling. Each person “buys” the watch from the other via PayPal or what not. That way, each person has some recourse should the product not be what they intended.

It’s not fool proof, but it gives just a little more protection.

Yes very good idea! it'd cost the extra 4% in fees or whatever that amount is, but for peace of mind.

And yep unfortunately looks like this one will be written off to experience
