Thanks for the notice!

I ordered it. I couldn’t stand using the digital version; just glad to have the chance to get a physical copy.

Yup ordered one as well. Not too keen to have to refer to the digital version so this was high on the list anyway.

I asked Pietro if there were any changes or updates made from the original version and this was his response:

"The new book is more modern in graphics and has 65 different chronographs from the previous edition."

I also asked if Breitling had approached him regarding their UG revival and he confirmed that they had, though no meetings of any kind had taken place yet. Fingers crossed and its really an exciting time to be a UG collector.

In the meanwhile, can't wait to get the book.

Good point.

I noted the following differences in the index of the two (though the overall pages seem to remain the same):

Uni-Compax: starts at page 193 vs 189.

It appears that there are other watches pictured than in the previous edition?

Great that the Sala book is available again! Giuliano has supported us a LOT in the making of The Polerouter book. I believe his passion and work has inspired quite a few of us! The first meeting with the UG advisory board has taken place early this month! Very exciting to see what's coming.... (Mattia)

Tempted but I’m dealing with big ticket home repairs at present. I’ll await reviews.

I’d be curious to see your evaluation regarding how much more comprehensive the edition is. In particular, the Compur and Uni Compax sections which I have always found to be a bit thin.

Received so basically within 48 hours.

Size is smaller: 2.5 cm in width, 1cm in height and slighty less thick. Paper is nicer than 1st edition. At first glance the (main) text seems identical and about 80% of the pictures as well. Some additional pictures - mainly 1930's watches - and some pictures from the 1st version were replaced by better ones. All by all I assume that about 60 new watches were added. On a personal level I am a bit surprised that none of the collaborations (i.e. UG x Gallet) are even mentioned.

I received mine today. I don’t have the prior book with which to compare, but I can confirm that it’s so much better than the digital version.

One critique would be that not all of the photos are terribly clear (meaning, those photos that were taken for the book).

New roof, new greenhouse window and just had to replace some AV gear that failed. I’ll keep taping and gluing my current copy. Does not sound like its a game changer.

Does the paper version contain B/W factory pics? I just got access to the online 2024 edition and I don't see these B/W pics anywhere. e.g.

Indeed it does, page 361 for those particular images
