I've never understood the need to wear something that will scratch my watch.
The bracelet can`t be used for anything, exept decoration, so yes I think they are unnecessary. In addition they may snag on "stuff" and being a danger that way. So I would not wear one either on a boat or at work, mostly because I am not used to wear jewelry. How ever I am thinking of making one, as it looks like a simple, fun project.
But as always: You do you!
I like the design of the original Omega Sailing bracelet but I'm concerned about its stiffness. Owners, please share your experience. Thanks! 馃榾
Sure but that's an attempt to justify jewelry preferences as rational/"necessary" vs other's as frivolous, ie "but I can use these diamonds to cut glass if I need to!" when they're both just frivolous preferences.
With that, if we were talking about using, say, a Rolex, as a bugout baubble, that's accurate. Diamonds & gold work great there too.

Not nessesarily, its just my preferences. I have never worn any kind of jewelry, exept for my wedding ring and a watch. My wedding ring is a minor hassle, but I like wearing it becuse it makes me think of my wife and the watch is, as you know, a very practical tool and looks great. (2254).
It may have a bit to do with this guy, the vocalist of Norwegian band "A-ha" who was the hottest shit in the 80`s.馃榾
