Actually, for the life of me, I never saw what everyone else sees in the AP ROO, but then again, I have weird tastes...

I agree...it's fugly to me, but as people say, buy what you like. That goes for RO and ROO.

I can't offer much insight on the stem. However, I strongly believe this watch needs to stay on the bracelet. I, myself, tend to put all of my watches on straps, but I do not believe this one looks good on leather.

+1. I'm a strap kind of guy, but I have to say I love my RO on the bracelet. It's kind of pointless without it.

Alright, it does have more of a steampunk vibe on the bracelet vs strap. Now to get this thing fixed.

I have to say I really enjoy a good Roo tenderloin on the BBQ when I'm down under...

I've actually got a genuine Roo leather NATO strap here, its a surprisingly thin leather but yet quite strong, like a third of the thickness of normal leather NATOs and slightly thinner than a nylon NATO.

I think Aaron Bespoke (http://www.aaronbespoke.com/) could probably make a strap for you. From what I've heard his straps are pretty damn phenomenal.
If you're going to blow that kind of paper: Why not APB? On the way to going broke, I had them make a few for me. You definitely get what pay for and that's a lot 😀

There's a reason most motorcycle racing suits are made from kangaroo skin. Supposed to be significantly stronger than cowhide, along with being more abrasion resistant. I've got two or three kangaroo skins around here they were gifted to me by family in Australia years ago.

Nice... he has some interesting straps and materials you normally don't see at that price range.

Certainly pricey but supposedly you get what you pay for. I would put APB in the same category as Aaron. I don't own straps from either.

i agree, a huge variety of options for anyone who wants their strap to make a statement

Is that some sort of strange Canadian euphemism? 😒

His prices are about what B&S and hodinkee charge. Much better variety and he makes some of those wierd leathers look good. Part of me wants to get that Japanese WWII canvas for me SKX.

That being said there are better more affordable options from a few guys on this forum for more "standard" style straps.

First and foremost get the stem fixed and installed. do you have the original crown? if you do It should be a simple job for a real watchmaker. I would keep the original bracelet intact to complement the rest of you strapped time piece collection. good luck

I traded an Aussie soldier in Viet Nam one of my Gerber Commando Combat knives for a pair of new Kangaroo Jump Boots. They were absolutely the best most comfortable and longest lasting boots I ever wore 😀

Yes I have the crown. My watchmaker is great, just that access to AP parts are limited. Looks like I am getting convinced to wear with the bracelet.

I called APBands to see if they make anything foir your 4100 series. No Cigar 🙁
I was told that the only versions of the 4100 series with straps were LE.
Your best bet for getting one would be from the AP AD in Clearwater Fl.
Get ready: clips, buckle and strap at least a "dime". That's $1,000.US for those lucky non bettors 😉

The answer is no, I'm not 15 years old anymore...
