·I recently bought a 2531.80 seamaster dated 2001. It looks like it may have been serviced at some point (dial and hands look “fresh”) but possibly not recently, seller made no mention of it being serviced and didn’t know service history. I got it around $2000 shipped to my door with papers and cosc certificate so it’s not a bad deal and leaves some room to send it to service…however my question is, is it time for one? It’s running not too bad. Around 260-280 amplitude and around +3s a day. However, the manual winding feels very rough and gritty, more so than other cal 1120 movements or 2892 movements I’ve owned. It kinda feels like winding a Miyota 9015 with a bit of dirt. Other 1120 or 2892 movements I’ve owned the winding is so smooth and silent you can barely feel it. Could this be just a “quirk” for this specific watch or is it a clear sign it needs servicing soon?
Thanks
