yes of course... but when did EVERYTHING go through the roof?
from vintage and non vintage porsches to 1960ies fender &gibsons to certain firearms, vinyls, wines, sneakers, brioni suits, hermes bags, APPLE devices, car customizing, - you name it...

the web2.0 took it to whole new levels... the whole concept of FANBOYS developed out of this...

shut up and take my money ...馃槜 anybody?

before the www2.0 we were mere amateurs

Actually Hermes bags are really insane...I literally have friends who buy $100k bags 馃が

It's worth mentioning that many of these sales are driven up, actually, by those that seek to buy and resell for a higher price.

Paying that much for a watch is pretty insane too. At least a bag is something you use. (Does one get banned for saying that?)
Some days I notice I forgot to wind my watches and I only realize at around 5pm. So many phones, computer clocks etc

And by LE I assume they probably mean a "new" bag with the same dimensions and structure but a different color, slightly different details and perhaps a repositioning of the brand logo.

On one hand, hearing about Hermes bags and their practices for creating scarcity is shocking and my first reaction is to say "who would pay for that?"

And then I remember what we pay for LE watches with one-off features and other exclusives..

Biased though I may be, I find a watch to be a more meaningful, and "durable" good. As well as a piece of jewelry. But I'm sure there are folks who say the same about bags. Makes one take a step back and examine our own brand of crazy..

The only jewelry of a (gentle)man is a watch. It's all we (should) have. Bags are for ... ladies ? 馃榿

So yea, I too consider a watch to be more important than a bag, when paying high price. However, it is true that if you've just slayed a dragon and it dropped all sorts of impressive jewelry, trinkets, coins, etc. a watch would not help you carry them, but a bag will. So it depends on the circumstance. ::psy::

The design and manufacture of handbags cannot be compared to that of high-end mechanical timepieces. Totally different products.

True. A watch can be a technological marvel and a work of art at the same time. A bag would never fill either of these categories. It is an industry of creative design, engineering, and prestige.

A bag boasts none of these. But yes, it will carry all your loot. Or nappies and lip balm.
