Rolex never produced Blueberry GMT inserts

So, all things considered, the best case scenario for the blueberry is that it's a prototype that Rolex never accepted as good enough to sell to its customers? I suppose at the end of the day, if there is a collector willing to spend big $$$ for something akin to a reject, that's his prerogative 😀.

There is no "best case scenario" though. It's pretty clear that the blueberry insert is fake and that its provenance was conjured up by questionable individuals.

You guys are getting a little too paranoid for me
Next you'll be telling me the famous Fruit Striped Ghost edition didn't come as a choice with the Borat GMT-III

Some Rolex aficionados are convinced that the Blue bezel inserts were an exclusivity for Rolex watches by French jewelry brand Cartier with dito Cartier dial 👎

I'm actually surprised that they would even issue the letter shown above in writing...

Same here. the very fact that they actually bother to comment on this issue at all, which really is non-business driver to them, is quite telling 😀

I know for fact that a publication regarding Rolex ( with prototype dial that you presume fake made by Italian dealer ) in the past years was pre approved by Rolex before being published.

Since I don’t have permission to disclose anything else that’s the best you’ll have.

If that it is not enough, weeeeell......

Cheers!

you're probably referring to the letter that Arthur Bond initially produced to warrant his blueberry + UAE GMT, right? (Orchi also posted and discussed this one in detail). Or is there anything else?

Thanks!

I have a feeling that the “letter from Rolex” saying an insert shown on a photograph sent to them is wrong, is itself fake.
It does not ring true to me, when have you EVER heard of Rolex doing such a thing?
From a photograph no less!

It would make sense for them to comment on the authenticity of the bezel based on the picture if they know that blue bezels were never produced by Rolex...

It's common knowledge that a watchmaker can always do something extra-ordinary for very special clients, Rolex is no exception ... 😗

They never do or did by a photograph. The only way Rolex write a letter stating that the watch is not good is to send the watch for service.
So the letter itself it's weird but, maybe, who knows.

I would like to remember that they state that they never produce th 1675 with that insert, but they don't state that they never ever produced the insert itself (which is the story that goes between collector and dealer, reputable or not ). So that leaves the door open to a LOT of speculation.

So untill someday, when a suppose autentic Blueberry GMT goes at the Vintage Rolex department for service and they say that the insert is crap the story continue.

I don’t think it would make sense, NOT from a photograph. Physical inspection yes, but not a photo. Never heard of this before, ever.

I really enjoy this thread. It is all about speculation. That´s how capital markets work 😁

A bit like the Spider dials, I never understood that.

reading this thread and keeping an eye on the instagram debates is nothing but fascinating. I hope that Rolex steps in to stop speculations from all sides of the debate. But then again, why should Rolex even bother about us nerds talking blue gmt bezels? 😁
