Time to let my beloved 1675 gilt GMT go. While she isn't a perfect specimen, she is honest and a stunner. I sourced it from an estate broker who got it from the original owner - I tracked him down and he gave me a run down of the background on the watch (more than happy to share the email with any interested parties). He was company commander, Co A, 2d Bn (Airborne), 1st Cavalry (Airmobile) - literally the real life Lt. Col. Kilgore from Apocalypse Now! I'll do my best to describe the watch and am more than happy to share videos and speak to any interested parties about it. Here a link to a fierce battle that he fought in with the watch (per his email to me): https://www.historynet.com/interview-adviser-takes-command.htm IG Video Link: https://www.instagram.com/p/CZRzUnBr0m6/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Case: Case is thick and even, at most likely saw 2 RSC polishes in the 1970s. There are two slight tool marks around the center post (see macro image) as well as an uneven area under the O (see image and I have a video I can share). The lacquer is free from spider cracks and chips. Movement: Running well, but service history is unknown. Hands/Insert/Bracelet: Original hands with oxidation. Red back faded insert (not original as he stated it was replaced at service). Later Jubilee bracelet.
