·I am very pleased to offer for sale this stunning complete set “transitional” GMT Master ref. 16750 with military provenance, retailed in Germany in 1987.
For those of us who love vintage watches, each one is special: no two watches have aged alike, no two pieces are the same, and every vintage watch has its own story to tell. And the right watches come with their own specific stories.
This example is unique because it comes from its original owner, who purchased it while serving as a pilot in the Air Force stationed in Germany, during his last year of active duty in 1987.
The watch was ordered through the AAFES (US Army and Air Force Exchange Service), a service that enabled deployed military members to buy goods while on active duty, and it still retains all of its original paperwork and accessories, including the original punched papers with country code 902 and stampings for the AAFES.
The glossy dial is pristine, with a with very attractive patina with matching tritium hands, the case features its original factory finishes, the iconic ‘Pepsi’ bezel is in mint condition, and the additional fat font black bezel is immaculate.
The bracelet is the original 78360/580 model with the correct ‘K’ date code in excellent condition, all 13 links, clasp clearly showing factory finish.
The watch is powered by the upgraded quickset 3075 calibre movement in perfect condition and it displays the original acrylic crystal and date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
Additionally, this example is a complete “full set,” including the original Rolex inner and outer boxes, punched warranty certificate, guarantee holder with serial tag, ‘Oyster’ and ‘GMT Master’ instruction manuals, translation booklet, both swing tags, and a calendar card.
This is a complete collector’s set of a rare, one-owner watch with documented military history, including the rare 902 code papers and stampings for the AAFES a confirming delivery to the Giessen base in Germany: a one-of-a-kind piece with a special story.
ABOUT THE WATCH:
9.3 serial dates back to 1986 and dial is the transitional gloss dial with white gold surrounds on the hour markers.
The watch comes with box and papers, including the original guarantee (punched papers) with military country code 902 and stampings for the AAFES.
The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time.
CASE:
The case is even and thick, with factory finishes and chamfers.
Serial and reference number are fully visible.

BEZEL INSERT:
Original Rolex blueback "Pepsi" insert in perfect condition with a beautiful fading.
Second black fat font insert in mint condition.
DIAL:
The dial is an original "white gold surrounds" with a beautiful creamy patina even on all plots, and all lettering is clearly visible and correct.
The hands are tritium and match perfectly to the dial.
Tritium is original and was checked with UVA light.
No craquelê on the dial, which is also very rare since most of the "white gold surrounds" dials are "spider" or "stardust".
BRACELET:
The bracelet is the original 78360 with 580 endings in excellent condition.
Also the clasp is unpolished and original to the watch and the clasp code (K) matches the serial.

The watch comes with the full set: the original Rolex box (inner/outer) with reference tag, the Rolex warranty certificate (punched papers) with military country code 902 and stampings for the AAFES, the Rolex warranty holder with serial (green folder), the Rolex calendar, the Rolex booklets ('Your Rolex Oyster, 'GMT Master' ), Rolex swing tag, Rolex hang tag.
MOVEMENT:
Correct 3075 caliber running well.
Original "open 6" data disc.
