I appreciate the resource, but doesn't it support my point?

"We avoid service parts because they do not look the same as the original parts – it is as simple as that...So you see there are degrees of 'Service Damage'."

In other words, if the service parts look mostly the same (as I would argue the Explorer II MKV bezel and MKVI dial do), why would they hurt the value so much? And even if some people think they should, William also (tactfully) acknowledges that "I am aware there are collectors who disagree with my views." So I'm not sure why we had to bring talk about laziness and gibberish into the conversation 🙄

I think the main point is not whether you (or anyone else) agrees or disagrees with how collectables are valued, or all the idiosyncrasies and trends involved in those valuations. The point is that you are looking to spend a significant amount of money on a collectible, and even if you don't anticipate selling it, that could very well change, and so it's advisable to really understand market pricing so you don't end up taking a bath in that situation. If you end up having to unexpectedly flip the watch, the people you are talking to in this thread are your potential target buyers, so I think it's worth taking into account their feedback. It doesn't mean you have to agree or disagree, or be in the collectors club or not, it's just market feedback.

The other conversation, about the WHYs of how things are valued, original parts vs service parts, original lume vs relume, etc, is tilting at windmills IMO.

Just my 2 cents. I also wouldn't consider the OP watch at $15K or $17K or even significantly lower.

which one of these?? watch MY six !
Help me out of the maze.
Ha, the two on the right side of the top row, which have "T SWISS < 25 T". The "T SWISS..." on the re-lumed dial that you said "me not" to is consistent with both of those, isn't it? Or am I still missing something?...

Yes a bit confusing, since his finger is covering the rest of the text. But this is not my dial, so unfortunately I have no access to the back-side. How come you would like to see it? What would you be looking for?

I first was confused by the TSWISST , but I was not correct, because it can not be symmetrical.....on the redial.

On the back side of the dials you can discover the origin + markings.
