I got on two lists about a year ago and have no illusions to get a call. Which is ok because maybe before it happens they will issue a true steel Panda. And then I’ll try to get on the list again even if i pre pay full price

It was mentioned earlier by many, a full payment in advance can help getting the watch quicker. I'm not sure whether it's true?

me neither but it stands to reason that it would.

I asked the AD if they required payment / deposit and he said not until it arrives....I suspect maybe he didn't have much faith in said arrival!!!!! However he did say they occasionally rocked up but only a handful a year.

I got told 7 years. After I bought the 60th Speedmaster it came down to 3 years from the same AD and informed that people do drop off the list and so I may get it before.

Rolex are currently holding back distribution of all SS sports models. This could be just to generate demand or perhaps some major upgrade to the Sub and GMT 2 line using the new 3255 movement. There have been rumors of a red line Sub with this new movement for Basel 2018. A new SS Sub and a Coke GMT 2 would probably impact the Ceramic Daytona wait lists . Around Q2 2018 we should have a better idea of how things will play out during 2018.

I was told by my AD that regional (APAC) shipment, especially for sports models, have dropped by about 75% in the past few months. Things have gotten so bad to the point that they've stopped the waitlist practice because there is no point setting unrealistic expectations for customers anymore. They're telling the better connected customers to just go through grey dealers because it's not possible to get any model through ADs. They also said it's not just Rolex, Richemont group is lowering their shipment quantum as well.

Ignoring Subs and GMTs, there aren't any Explorer 2 or Milgauss on display. Everything is out.

I was waiting for the new gold panda daytona since release and can't even get that.

I was one of the first to sign up, that's why I had it in months and not years, now it's company with my black Daytona

Saw quite a few second hand ( pre-owned) when in Tokyo, Japan last October. Reasonably priced too, if memory serves

Anyone know any AD's within a 4 hour drive time of NYC who they would recommend / refer? PM me if so. Really want to get on this waiting list. Thanks.

They do...I was hoping for a reference to any AD's that I might have better luck with a little further out. Demand here I expect is pretty high and I'm sure the wait lists are long. I'll be calling them and visiting to get on them in any case, but if there are some in CT, MA, N, PA etc that people might think are better bets - would really appreciate it.

Hah, another NYC guy trying to fish in the backwaters.
Stay away from Longs in MA. That is my waiting list.
😁😉

Just check the Rolex website and try them all.

The wait for Astro-Physics telescopes is about 9 years. Of course, they're made by the founder of Astro-Physics himself, not by assistants (they do other AP products), so that's part of the reason. Also, he wants to keep the prices semi-affordable for enthusiastic amateurs to buy and take to the field to observe with, not collectors' items kept in their boxes, so he's not doing the obvious by raising prices to what the market will bear.

I gather a lot of people's needs change while they are on the list -- out of astronomy, decided to go for big aperture Newtonian instead of a refractor, paying for child's education, already bought a refractor which works fine for them, etc.
