Up for sale is my Rolex DateJust 16014 with a gorgeous glossy black dial. It was just fully serviced within the past 9 months or so by a Rolex-trained watchmaker in the Philadelphia area, and runs like a charm. I believe the serial number dates it to 1979 or so. Selling it only because I just picked up a new blue dial DJ, and can't practically keep both. The 16014 is a quickset date model, 36mm without crown. It features an 18k white gold fluted bezel, 3035 automatic movement, waterproof screw-down crown, and acrylic crystal. It comes on a Rolex stainless steel Jubilee bracelet 62510H with proper 555 endlinks, 20mm (P1 clasp dates to 1991-ish, I believe). I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but this is a classic piece - goes as well with jeans as with a suit. Dial is in great shape, with open 6s and 9s on the date wheel. The hour markers and lume plots look sharp. I am told the handset is likely a later replacement, based on the slightly lighter coloration of the lume compared to the puffy lume plots on the dial (that still glow under UV light). The case shows some modest signs of wear as shown (note one light scratch on the left edge of the case), and some pitting under the edge of the case back that the watchmaker tells me is common from this era - doesn't affect functionality or appearance at all Bracelet has some modest stretch, but wears very nicely. Acrylic crystal with cyclops is in nice shape, and any minor scuffs can presumably be buffed out if so desired. Priced to move at $3,850 (less than my cost, including the recent service).
