    Hi,

I am considering purchasing the following rolex cellini 5330 for around 5k USD, wondering what your thoughts are? In particular the case back has no writing compared to some others i’ve seen. I want to make sure it’s all legit and real before I drop that kind of cash!

    Thanks!

Wow! Can't believe that no one has bothered to reply to your questions. That Cellini you are considering is the real deal, it is totally legit. I have a 14k yellow gold Cellini from the mid 90s and it has a smooth caseback (except for a few numbers). They are great watches; very understated and under the radar. I've never seen another person wearing a Cellini, so there is a certain uniqueness to owning one too. The are beautiful watches, and I'm on the prowl to buy another one in the not too distant future. 20200420_170540.jpg

Thanks! There are plenty like it out on EBAY or Chrono24. I'm looking seriously at the 38mm models that have been issued within the last few years, but they are a bit pricey. From the minimal internet research I've done, the Cellini is a totally overlooked and even dismissed by most Rolex enthusiasts. My initial conclusions are that Cellinis are for those who like understated elegance and beauty. It will always be a great topic of conversation at any watch party!

I think it’s very nice looking. I had a gold cellini for a while but it was quartz. Nothing wrong with that just makes it more difficult to sell if you wish to do so. You model is quite similar to looks as mine was. Very similar style which I always liked. I ended up selling mine to an online place and although I feel they gave me a fair price I laughed when I saw them resell it for 4x what I sold it for. That’s business. Anyway I think that is a very nice model and I didn’t limit my use of my cellini to days I played dress up. I like it, I think you should go for it if it’s the real deal by all appearances
