When I see 'temporary production facilities' I get very queasy.

Even though Rolex might be increasing production, I don't think that in a few years one will be able to just walk into a boutique and buy a watch (esp a "hype" model like a Daytona or GMT). All the increased production might do is just shorten the wait time by a few months. Rolex's only concern is their brand image and that is one of luxury and exclusivity. Making their watches more accessible only works against that.

I wonder if the "modern" watches of today will fall into the "vintage" market several decades from now, just like how state of the art sports watches in the 50s~80s now fall under the vintage category.

Like, what does that even mean? Sounds sketch.

Eventually it will. Maybe it'll come with it's own fancy name like Pre-modern or post transitional. Hopefully, the increase in production doesn't come with any drop in QC. It would be interesting if there ever becomes an era of rolex where people avoid due to the perception of qc issues.
