Ah ah : I knew I was going to have a laugh with your post ! Edit : that must be the reason why Rolex has not opened a shop here in my home town
Haha! Just makes you wanna buy one right!? The AD in my town had watches in the window but wouldn’t let customers try them on.
One only hopes these Rolex stores carry other brands so they can continue to make a living. Otherwise why keep paying the rent.
Even if they do have something in the window inevitably there is a sticker saying "For Exhibition Only".
Things are better in the US, last week I looked in the window of the Rolex boutique in the Houston Galleria and they had a 28mm steel Oyster Perpetual on display. It just looked silly.
Could you imagine being the employees that had to do the window display? It’s like decorating for a birthday party and nobody shows up.
Having to wait months for them to call you sucks, but isn't it nice to know that when they do sell you a watch it's instantly worth more than what you paid for it?
I've seen a few Rolex boutiques at Christmas displaying wrapped boxes or little gift bags in the window in lieu of watches, but that Sydney display with empty watch holders is just dumb. They just threw up the provided holiday Rolex display and called it a day. Lazy.
Sure. If you aren’t willing to own a watch for 10 years, don’t even think about owning it for 10 minutes.
