Hello!
Yesterday I bought this rare thing!
Very interesting assembly. It also has an original label, but I will get it one of these days. It says 100 waterproof in German. It was with a few more of this brand, but not waterproof and about 10 pocket watches in new condition. The story is that they were walled up. Here in the forum I have read about such brand new Omegas that came out of Bulgaria, again walled up...

Amazing find.

Is it just the one clip at 6 to secure the caseback (top end held by a lip?).

Only the two springs to hold the movement?

And those lovely springbars, glad they don't use them any more.

Waterproof. I expected a Schmitz Freres clamshell when I first saw it.

Hello!
Apparently it is not visible in the pictures. Both at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock there are clips. The last cover with them is mirrored. After clicking, it presses the cover, which enters a groove in the metal housing holding the mechanism, where there is a rubber (maybe) seal. The metal that holds the mechanism with the springs has the glass attached to it. It stands as if it was cast on this metal. I expected there to be some kind of seal there too. Very interesting assembly. On the label that I do not have yet, it says 100% waterproof. I use a translator and I hope I have explained clearly what impressed me and answered your questions!

Hello!
Can you take some pictures of what you're talking about! I don't think I've ever seen anything like this...

What I'm talking about are the tank watches with Schmitz Freres cases from the 1930s. They look similar from the front and also employ a flanged crystal and gasket, but seal totally differently from the back and use what is commonly called a clamshell case. Here is an Eterna, I've also had a Cyma.

Yours is different obviously, and interesting.

Thanks a lot!
I think a friend has the same assembly as the Eterna, but it's an Alpina.

Very likely. I've seen at least a handful of brand names on similar watches. There is a thread here:
