I'm only 30, but brought up in classic film and television (thank God). I believe it honed a finer handle on history and a sharper sense of humor. Certainly, I see this in my hilarious brothers as we toss classic references around in every conversation. Cloris was a doll.
Ah that's sad. She lived a long good life though, and we were lucky to have her! If you want more, go re-watch "Raising Hope" - super funny show from the guy behind "My Name is Earl" (but better if you ask me)
She was fearless in her roles. Never depended on her looks, often went out of her way to play it down.
She played in American Gods not too long ago, already aged in her 90s. That requires a lot of strength and discipline.
She was a classic beauty, with a wonderful smile and flashing blue eyes. And she had the most attractive trait ever: she could make you laugh uncontrollably just with a look. A true original, and she will be missed.
There was an interview not too long ago with Mel Brooks, and he talked about how unique and hilarious she was, and how much he loved working with her. She was amazing, and worth seeing in any role she ever played. Godspeed.
