Sold as a manual winder, but was originally designed as an automatic? Now THAT I have never seen! You are saying the watch was also available as an automatic, but that if the automatic winding parts were added to the subject watch, the watch would not work? Pray tell, why?

Didn't Timex do this with one of their Marlin Re-issues?

Gave this one to my step-father, and it was handed down to me when he passed away in 2014.

This image of a Revue T46 from the Ranfft archive bears only a faint resemblance to the watch you are calling a T46.

http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&2&2uswk&MSR_T46

The one in your post has the train bridge milled to accommodate the auto wind works. The Ranfft image isn’t milled. The one in your post has the milled steady pin to accommodate the auto winding. The Ranfft image isn’t milled there. Yours shows the modified barrel bridge, and the jewel for the lower pivot of the final auto wind drive gear. The one in the Ranfft image has a different barrel bridge, and no accommodation for the lower pivot of the final drive gear in the auto wind mechanism. I can see what you meant when you said the watch wouldn’t work f you added the auto wnd system. That seems to be because it totally wouldn’t accommodate the auto wind system, period.

Ahh okay I guess you google up Ranfft so you know best👍 Look I serviced the watch and it's not the first one I have seen with that bridge, the base plate is marked T43 has a barrel with a hooked mainspring and marked T43 on case back. Give me a break https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLEo7H9tqS

Just bought this for my husband, will be his first auto. Looks familiar don't you think? Its supposedly nos. Looks immaculate, but will only know for sure once I get it.
I'm hoping he loves it, but if he doesn't it might just find it's way into my collection (does that make me a terrible person?!? )
Also thanks for all the revue pics, I'm really enjoying the earlier dials, just stunning! They seem to be in such great condition (or is that just from a really good clean up?)

This is one of a couple of watches from my father and was wondering if it was worth getting it cleaned up and serviced.

I managed to remove the back (carefully) and here is the mechanism.
The back is inscribed but almost indecipherable and not worth posting an image.
Other than waterproof, antimagnetic, stainless steel, and swiss made there is an inscription beginning with an upward pointing arrow, 7323 followed by A. Is this a serial number or does it have any other significance?

I can see they have named it something else, but looks like a MSR 350! MSR was Revues version of ETA. Very nice!

Another Super compressor recommissioned after several decades in a drawer! Some scars, but not bad for a all original 1962 watch thats been used.

anyone know what kind of watch this is? i have looked all over the net to find some kind of info but all i know is it has a Revue G.T. movement and i believe it is from the 1920's or 30's. It only says L. Galm-Bale, Swiss Made! any help identifying this beauty would be amazing . Thank you!!
