Returning Speedmaster 4th Time for Service!

This is unbelievable, but I just had to return my Speedmaster back to the Omega Service Center for the 4th time. I had originally sent it to Omega via my local AD for a cracked crystal. Several months later I was getting condensation inside the case and had to send it back. Then it happened again. The latest go around, it was just recieved back this week. My local AD decided to test it. They did a high pressure and a vacuum test and it failed AGAIN! This is bad! I will definitely remember this when thinking about purchasing my next Omega!

Anybody else had similar issues?

What model of Speedmaster is this? What "high pressure" test did they perform?

It is the two-tone triple date Speedmaster, Refernce #: 3220.50.00. Watch is pictured in my avatar. I do not know what "high pressure" test they did, I was just going from the service notes from the AD.

Archer - As an Omega qualified watchmaker, this cannot be typical. What would you do in this situation? I tried contacting Omega Service via their customer service portal, but it seems to be malfunctioning. For a company like Omega, this is horrific. The AD I used is not a certified Omega reseller, they are a Rolex certified reseller and service center and where I go for Rolex. Perhaps I should have used the local Omega dealer?

Well no , but I remember a JLC Reverso that I had that spend more time at service than my wrist , and after complaining and complaining for almost 4 years they offer me to change the watch for another one.

some times there is watches like that , also cars , I think mine finish under a pillar and end of the nightmare .

Okay thanks. The watch pictured in your avatar is not a 3220.50.00, which is a stainless steel watch with a black dial.

In any case, these Speedmaster date watches are rated for 10 bar, where a normal Speedmaster is rated for 5 bar, so that's why I asked. A regular Speedmaster would not be tested to anything called a "high" pressure.

Are you certain the watch was actually sent to Omega? Do you have anything to confirm this other than the word of the dealer?

I would call the Omega service center in your country, and give them the serial number of your watch, and ask when it was last serviced.

Unless the case is damaged in some way, these should not be problematic to make water resistant.

No confirmation that it was sent to Omega other than their word. I am based in the US - any chance you have the Service Center number? I thought I would have gotten the Reference number directly from the watch - maybe that is part of the problem?

I'm not in the US, but you will want the Swatch service center in Secaucus, NJ.

So I confirmed with the Swatch Group Service Center that the watch was in fact serviced by Omega. Their last record of it being serviced was the third service and it was returned to the AD on 7/19. At this time they should have received the watch back but I suspect the receipt has not been fully processed. Let's hope they git it right this time. Unbelievable! Not sure I could buy another Omega.

You're certainly justified in feeling annoyed and not wanting to purchase another product from a brand that gave you this experience.

Have you contacted the Omega customer service through their website? Hopefully the HQ would be upset by their agent's performance and look into it further.

Sorry for your bad experiences.

I tried to share my experience via the web site and share the notes from my AD, but it kept crashing? I will try again later.
