It's too late, I'm going to attempt what you suggested, but before I do, are you sure they'd have 0.8 / 1.5 hands? I don't want to waste their time, I wasn't aware there were generic hands that fit 550 series movements

Go back in time about 1990 - 1998. When my watch maker passed away and my dial refinisher retired. I stopped restoring
My watch maker charged $25 - $35 to clean a movement and refinisher $50 for a dial.
Last pair of hands bought were Seamaster 300 and paid $70.00 for 3. 1993 - $40.00
