Hello, I am new to this forum and am looking for a gift for my partner. I am looking for Seamaster De Ville with a black dial and am aware that they are quite difficult to find with the original dial. I am considering this watch on Chrono 24 (link: https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/om...ens-vintage-watch-14920-sc-62--id24151015.htm) and would like some advice on its value and credibility. I also attach photos from the website for convenience. Thank you in advance!

I believe it to be original, however it is far, far too expensive, especially with that dial damage.

Is your gift time sensitive? The key to buying a nice vintage watch is patience.

Ridiculously overpriced, even at £925 it would still be overpriced.

I also say it's a pass..do not buy it. Overpriced and the defects of the dial do not justify this price. It will be difficult to find a black dial from my experience.

Price is absurd.

It also appears the bezel Is not on correctly which means the glass could fall off leaving the dial at risk of damage.
This could be because the person taking the pictures removed the glass to photograph the movement or that the service was undertaken by someone not familiar or equipped to work on this case style. Either way there should not be a gap under the bezel.

Black dial Seamasters are a trap most of the time. You really have to be an expert to be able to pick a good one.

I wouldn’t pay that kind of money for a damaged dial tbf. Other than that it looks good.

No problem. When you do find another of interest, probably don’t share the link on here, otherwise someone reading your post may buy it if it’s actually a decent deal. Just share photos and price and usually that’s enough..
