·Watch seems real from the onset, serial puts it at 1963 to 1965. Would be best in the future to post a watch pic with hands at 10 and 2. This allows for better viewing and critique. One image seems gold, the other silver. Seems 14k perhaps and if working properly in respect to it's age, it may be up-wards to 1k......cheers

·It's gold, 18k, probably cal 262, with reprinted dial, H/M hand not original, or crown, worth gold scrap value plus maybe a small amount for the mvmt if it's in good shape. Since it's family, I would either enjoy it as is, or look for an original dial that will fit, which can be trial and error. Good luck!

But it can’t be from the 1960’s, mate, my grandpa emigrated europe in 1947 and he brought it with him

·interesting, cal 128, don't see those as much. Is it possible to see the inside case back (not the exterior). Need to see if there is UG markings on the inside. The fit between the cal and the case looks really wonky.

cool, well it's a really nice and unusual gold case 👍
If it were me, in the long term I would keep an eye out for an original dial/hands, and enjoy it in the meantime......
