So just for clarification:
If I send my watch to omega they will restore the case to its original state and restore the dial and hands if I wish so.
But this would not really affect the value of the watch, right?
I would probably still do it because I don’t intend to sell this watch anyway and would like it as a piece to pass on.

I don't think you guys can empathise with the mindset of someone having a problematic watch in their hands and just want it to be better no matter the (logical) cost, I guess that's why OP leaned to restoration as well, while it's pricy, it's like a purification

Admittedly I babbled for a different reason, I was just amazed such a service is available as I didn't know it existed

To OP, another suggestion is buying a donor 14701 and swapping the parts, it'll cost around $650, I've looked at all the ones on the eBay, and directly sold ones are all polished as well, but good ones come around - this would be a good candidate if it was $300 instead of $800: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-SEAM...pid=5338899135&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1 - sometimes cases are sold alone as well

The case will be polished more, it won't be put back into its original state. Restoring the dial and hands from Omega will decrease the value.

If you're intent on having the case restored, If recommend working with Lapinist. They do laser welding and lapping, so a step above your average case restoration. Afaik Omega doesn't offer either - They only polish.

For the dial, your best bet is probably finding a replacement or donor, as others have mentioned.

The case is most important to me. The dial and hands don’t really bug me. Do you know how much a laser welding repair would cost?

You'd need to get a quote. Rates change, and can be dependent on case complexity and geometry.

You don’t know this.
