This watch belonged to the father of my brother in law, and he would like to get it refurbished and use it himself. The watch is gold plated and a quartz, so I imagine a refurbishment will cost way more than th monetary value of the watch, but so be it, sometimes watches need to be valued in memories not money.
I am imagine it needs to be replaced and it may need a new donor movement as the battery corroded the movement. I would also put an original strap on it, but I am not sure if the brother in law is that bothered about the strap.
Does anyone have any recommendations of watch makers in yhe UK who could help get this watch looking wonderful and working should it need more than a bit of tlc and a new battery?

All input and suggestions are appreciated.

Movement based on images is a caliber 1332 and in-house model rather than rebranded ETA. That makes parts more difficult to source.

Someone is selling parts on EBay. You would need to check parts suppliers to see if anything is available

Don’t know of anyone in the UK, but maybe someone else does

What sort of resto work are you looking to have carried out?

For movement repair I’d recommend wheelers in Worthing. Chris the watchmaker actually owns a steel version of this watch and wears it as his daily. They also keep a stock of many many spare parts. I’ll happily text him and ask his opinion on this for you if you like. My datejust is in with him now for service.

Primetime watches in lancs are great for case/dial restoration. Got a watch going up there soon but to be fair looks like this watch isn’t in too bad a condition bar the movement.

On the topic of straps you can buy them on the omega website but personally I think they’re a rip off. I’d buy from molequin/delugs/the strap tailor instead but that’s just me.
