Family Heirloom Vintage De Ville

I recently inherited my grandfather’s Omega De Ville dress watch. I don’t know much about watches at all but this is so important to me after losing my grandad recently I would love to know some more information about it if possible.

I believe the watch was owned by his uncle-in-law before he gave it to my grandad too. Both were from Sheffield, England.

I’d love to know:
How old the watch roughly is
If the watch has a specific name other than De Ville
Approximate value now

The watch itself has stopped so whether it needs a new battery or full repair (or if it’s unsalvageable) I’m not sure. Other than that there are a couple of scuffs on the gold around the face and a couple of scratches on the back by the bracelet looks to be in good shape.

Thank you!

Maybe early 70’s. Would need to open it to check the movement.

Not quartz as not stated on the dial.

Value. It’s was your grandfathers.

As previously stated it doesn’t use a battery but a mechanical movement. It will run after a service which will not be cheap(USD 300 plus parts and more expensive if you go their omega route). It being a gold filled/ plated case and not in the best of condition its value is mostly sentimental ( monetary value will be around the same as the service amount). Bracelet is not original to the watch but perfectly okay to wear it as it is if that’s how you remember it.
It’s a70s style model, no other model name other than the de ville other than square, tv nick names for the case shape. Not particularly desirable to collectors.

Thank you for your help. It’s definitely priceless to me but will definitely get it serviced so it’s working.
