Refin/fake dial???

Hello everyone, I’m quite new in vintage omega collecting, so some help would be much appreciated!!! I found this very nice vintage constellation, everything looked nice at first but the dial looks quite suspicious, it has lume hands, but no lume on the hour markers, as well as print that does not align with the applied markers. It would be of great help to know if the dial was refinished or if it is fake. Thank you very much for all your help!!!

Looks like a non-chronometer posing as a Chronometer. Not good.

Yeah, I knew it looked kinda fishy. You think I should avoid at all cost, because it’s listed at a very attractive price…

I'd like to see additional expert opinion(s) as I'm definitely a non-expert. But as you say, the lettering on the dial looks fishy, and I'd expect to see something like 'adjusted to 5 positions and 2 temperatures' on that big bridge thingey.

Yeah, I’m positive that the movement and case are at least original omega parts, but the stamping and the lettering looks way off, definitely would like to have someone else’s input on the matter. It’s really a great learning tool to hear from experienced collectors as well, so thank you very much!!!

The size, shape, & positioning of the printing for the minute markers is all over the place.

Would you be happy wearing a faked constellation even if it was cheap? Me not so much
The crudeness of the minute markers would drive me crazy.

It’s genuine but has been redialed.

The movement should be a 564. The “temperature” text is missing from the bridge which I assume is why @Jones in LA is saying it’s a non chronometer but it could have just had the bridge replaced at some point. Another shot of the movement showing the caliber is req to confirm.

Either way, the dial would be a show stopper for me.

Hard pass on this, you can definitely do better. Looks like a redial. I've never seen "Swiss Made" like that on a C-case. It should be under the 6 o'clock index. Hands are wrong, never seen those hands on one either and as you noted the indices aren't lumed. Bracelet looks wrong too. Definitely doesn't appear to be a 1040 and the endlinks are not stamped 518.

Go through this thread if you're looking for a C-case. You can find lots of examples to compare against. https://omegaforums.net/threads/the-c-cased-constellation-thread.72308/
