So disappointing, indeed. There are loads of treasures but Italy is a real minefield for us, foreign buyers. 馃憥

Italian Watch Dealers....
::facepalm1::
Always have really attractive things, but I always feel I am in a very expensive bordello that is slightly beyond my means, and leave feeling shafted and poorer than I intended.

Very true!

So far all watches I bought from Italian watch dealers I had to return due to the fact that they were incorrect and cobbled together pieces.

Their watches look nice in pictures but when you have them in your hand it often is a totally different story.

145.012's are the runt of the 321 litter. Often they have lost originality and we struggle to find something nice to say about a watch - so many have poor bezels and this plays such a huge part in values that we can't avoid it. So good to top examples will start to hit $15,000 while poor examples my stay around 4000-6000.

Breaking a 145.012 will only make sense for a finite time - as owners fulfill their needs of dials, movements and cases - yes the bezel will always find a home.

I'd like to bring this thread up again. Along with AML dials matching down to 105.012s and bezels, hands down to 105.003s and various movement parts I recently noticed many 145.012 specific parts offered along, mainly casebands, pushers, casebacks, it's like extermination where the least usable parts of the animal are thrown to the market. I wonder when their "donor destiny" will end and how many will be left then..

Not many 145.022-69's with proper DON bezels these days. Although there is a nice one offered by a member in Private Watch Sales.
