··Sunburst dial fanI just think it looks like a dial that has been painted. That’s why I’m asking. I’m new to all this, so that’s why I reach out for help, so I don’t buy anything stupid. Actually I got no issue with it being damaged, I just don’t want a repainted dial.

·Your choice - but that said, why bother asking. It would look much better with a good redial.

·Ok so avoid this watch. A stripped dial is no better than a redial and this one is also in very poor condition. Unless you have a very, very tight budget and it’s for sale for say £50, avoid it.

What they are neglecting to mention is that, at some time in the past, somebody attempted to clean the dial, thereby stripping off the top lacquer coat and all of the text and index marks, all the way down to the silvered base layer applied to the brass dial plate.
