This popped up on one of my eBay checks, and in my hesitation it sold.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-SUBM...579479?hash=item2cca98e7d7:g:30kAAOSw~v1aG9kE

Was I prudent to not go for it immediately? From comparing with DRSD it all looked legit: Mark V dial, fat insert, however the case looked over polished (which was why such hesitation), and the hands looked like replacements. However the price was low, did i miss a good deal?

Would appreciate your thoughts or maybe just a slap for waiting!

The guy has a watch store, gives basically no description, posts lousy pix, sells a watch for half the market value if legit, and you would bid based on all of that? Hard to know without more if the deal was real, but my guess is that you should consider yourself lucky. JMHO.

Obviously not a lot of information but looks like he left some money on the table..
No information about the case, i.e., to tell if it is period correct but still a good buy.
Mk-4 not 5..

++1!!!!!!!!!! I am so used to crisp pics, trust, consideration of future transaction and lots of info ... I’d never buy based on what is here. If seller cannot be bothered then neither will I.

Better to miss a suspect opportunity than to loose money to a scam. If it was legit worse case you go to bed pissed off. If it was a scam you’ll be crying many nights and lighter on the bank account.

Hi,
back case in my opinion fake, reference and date have been rewritten, you can think that the watch is not a deal.
