Well, this Astronic has cracked the lower end of my estimate with 19 hours left. Any guesses where this one will end up? Movado AstronicPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
here's another craptastic listing for a cal 40T chronometer http://www.ebay.de/itm/140898079287...om=R40&_nkw=140898079287&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_1210Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network No price history here - rarer than hen's teeth. I say mid $4K.
Such a price would be gratifying to me, as an Astronic owner... as was the hammer price of that Christie's A386 sans bracelet. Perhaps my financial planner will give me less sh*t about this hobby.
Yes, very bad. Had to squint to see the little 40T logo/observatorymarking/whatever it is. Is that logo meaningful beyond identifying the calibre? I forget.
Well, there was this more complete one, with signed crown and clasp, but mucked up day wheel and crappy bezel: Astronic 1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network . And this one, also complete and better in the bezel than Astronic 1, with chrono reset issue: Astronic 2Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network . Both of these have already been surpassed. I have to say, it's hard to believe there are only 100 of these. They show up a bit too frequently for me to buy that.
I just asked this seller if he would sell to the us, and how much shipping would be and he answered "it is expensive." (quoted in full). Okeydoke, enjoy the crappy low price you are going to get from shoddy pictures and germany-only sales policy.
Sigh. For some reason, the provincial mindset runs deep on this side of the big lake. I also get it from Italian sellers who are wary of sending packages just two countries north! Hey, y'all created a UNION dont'cha know! Same currency, free bank transfers. No customs hassles, either!
You've just got to admire some people's optimism. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Z...Accessories_SpareParts_SM&hash=item5aeca27d8bPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This would seem to me to be a nice high-beat entry into the world of late 60's/early 70's Zenith funk - the UFO - at a nice price: http://bit.ly/WIhe5Q
I actually like the funky 70s stuff, but for some reason i thought the date wheel was supposed to color match the dial.
I don't recall off hand. Isn't there one of these in roessler to check? This one looks in spanking good shape
There's an AutoSport Luxe version (A3695) on p. 141 with a blue/black dial and white date wheel...but the other blue 28800 watches from that time have a matching date wheel (see e.g., 1972 AutoSport, 01.1311.290, on p. 145 of Roessler and the 1974 catalog). On the whole, it's likely original and correct given the rest of the watch's condition.
I don't have Rössler with me, but this one looks quite similar: Blue UFOPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network . The dial on this other one looks a lot more blue, however. Are these truly different colors, or is it a trick of photography or the aging process?
You guys had your chance. I took my own advice and snagged it. Upcoming thread: Spaceman Meets the UFO.
