Sorry to be so slow on the upyake (work and Christmas keep getting in the way). Here is a photo of the G581 dial. It differs from the G381 in these respects: black tachymetre ring; no centiminute ring; half marker at 6 o'clock and double marker at 12 o'clock; larger numbers on the subdials; generally cooler 馃槣

Chris, thank you for that.

Also, subdial numbers are in white instead of gold. I'll post a side by side comparo of A 384 - G 381 - G 581 later

One picture? And it's a poor one too. 馃憥 It'll be good for one of us though.

Sometimes the poor picture is a good thing. A while back I scored a PLATINUM Elite Chronomaster HW, cal. 655, NOS with tags, for $3K including postage and duty. Both the photo and description were poorly presented (the reference to the type of metal was buried), by an untried overseas seller (Greece), resulting in not much competition. It was, and remains, a GREAT watch!

Indeed. It could indicate an unsophisticated seller with a real find. I don't have $3k kicking around to roll the dice with, though 馃槈

36mm (it is a late-20th century watch), and very thin. It's all good by me.

Lou and Norm might be off the hook temporarily. Might have to start pestering you to sell me that instead of their respective Longines 22 series watches.

Says a victi... um, a happy seller who relent... um, was happy to sell me a watch. 馃榿

Truth be told, the Constellation caliber 712 that Steve sold me earlier this year was because he felt bad and knew it was destined for me. He swooped in on eBay while I was "on sabbatical" (a story for another time 馃槣) and grabbed that watch. Then he rubbed it in, albeit in a friendly way. But the Watch Gods rectified the error by putting several more Steve-ish watches for sale a few months later, and to raise funds he sold me the 712.

Well, that's sort of the facts...... according to me.

Oooh yeah - Breguet numbers, guilloche dial, thin - all catnip to Dennis.馃榿

APPLIED Breguet numerals. APPLIED!!! 馃グ

The only problem is I'd want to wear it more than just during March.

John, it's been 5 hours since you posted that platinum RdM. Are you ready to sell it to me yet? 馃榿
