I'm all for non sequiturs and am aware we have a certain reputation for thread-jacks, but just give me a little insight into the workings of the Stewart H brain - how does this fit into the thread?

Is that yours? Love the 911. I do hold with Richard Hammond, though. Porsche should only make 911's, and the only question a Porsche dealer should ask a prospective buyer is: "Red or black?".
For Zenith, I would support a bit more variety in the product line.

OK, back to watches. Here is an interesting one from Pakistan:

FrankenSportPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

AutoSport dial and hands, without the C-shaped AutoSport case. "28800" on the dial, but a 21600 2552pc under the hood.

Indeed it is. Sports cars are the only thing more guaranteed to keep you poor than a taste for watches.

I like white though... They do need to remove the targa, the cabrio, and there shouldn't be an S, the S specifications should be a given. The auto also shouldn't be an option, you use three pedals or you drive a Honda IMO.

White/Silver are the historical german national racing colors - of course they look good on a Porsche, just like a red Ferrari, green Jaguar, blue Alpine Renault or Bugatti, etc.

Sorry, I made up the red/black choice. Actual quote:

May: so in Hammond's Britain, would everybody who wanted to buy a Porsche be forced to buy the 911?
Hammond: yes. you'd walk into a shop and i'd say, "i'd like to buy a Porsche please" and they'd say, "certainly sir, what colour would you like?"

Well, it was on eBay this AM until I snagged it on a whim:

A cal 106 from 1941-42 with a funky dial that I hadn't seen before. I think not a redial, unless maybe it belonged to a bored Japanese POW with a lot of free time on his hands.

Ah, the rare General Tso's Zenith. Certainly looks authentic. Will be curious what that dial looks like under the loupe.

Original or not, I think that dial is quite charming.

That's it! It's American Chinese Restaurant Menu font! With chopstick hands! I think maybe I was just hungry... and now I feel like I could buy another one.

That was my thought, and the price was right. :)

I like this one. Have we seen it before, recently? Looks correct. Case bevels look pretty sharp. Reluming is a little on the yellow side, a minor point to me. Service crown, not a biggie. I like the box around 'PHC' on the chrono bridge... I associate this feature with early production runs, though I can't remember exactly where I've seen it... on a LouS EP, I think.
