This was originally a Buy-It-Now was it not? maybe they realised popcorn was a better solution 馃槣

Dang, if I had seen it as a BIN at $1500 it'd already be gone.

No doubt.

I'm sure it will go for substantially higher than what we see now...

The only thing it seems to be missing is an original crown, an original bracelet, and my hairy wrist!

What happened? It's gone! 馃檨

I almost asked the guy if I could come to see it in person and buy it, but then thought twice.... 馃 ... I wasn't sure I could swing that...

Wouldn't be surprised that a dealer swopped it up and we'll soon see it again with some sticker shock. 馃檨 Hope to be proven wrong of course!

The power reserve is a very photogenic watch but its details are lost when seen from some distance (like on the wrist). It is also not super rare. The bottom line is that I am not sure why there is so much craze around it. Do not get me wrong; I own one and love it but I am not sure that the high prices that we are seeing are justified.

For the Ultra-Chron fans. Chronometer movement. Looks very legit, as I have compared the pictures carefully with my own example of this watch. My case is matte on top with sharp transition to polished sides and back but is otherwise identical to this one. These cushion cases wear very nicely. This is great price with the chronometer level 431 movement. Can't vouch for the seller, but have found some superb watches from overseas sellers before. Currently wondering if the slight different in cases could convince my wife that this is actually a different watch than the one I already own, and therefore justifiable. That I have to wonder probably answers my own question...

Well said sir, well said. As usual I have overthought the situation and stand corrected by a more focused mind. Will wait 24 hours and if still available will pull the trigger. @gatorcpa led me to the one I own currently, which is absolutely mint. I can justify this new one as my "daily wearer" 馃槈

I talked to the seller. Maybe knew what it was worth.
Maybe someone made him the right offer and got a beauty
of a PR. Maybe @JohnSteed ?
This one sold for $3300 in November 2014!

Interesting. He told me a different story.

He said he liked it, and decided to keep it...馃槖

Maybe he thought I might be working for the 'FleaWay Gestapo'!

Longines Conquest Power Reserve:

Not the cheapest one, wrong crown, polished back, but lugs seem to be at least ok, original dial, hands and crystal, caseback and case numbers match.

Indeed. I remember the "black swan" that was sold recently.
