Depends how good of a yodeler you are
I was set to go to Lucerne University with a full ride for Yodeling... but on my summer break I joined a heavy metal band and destroyed my vocal cords with the endless screaming and hairspray.

A fairly common story...

Seems the Hamilton is live again, buyer must have reneged. Fantastic dial and with some TLC it would be lovely, not sure my watch maker would appreciate me rocking up with that movement though.

Heh, like Déjà vu?!

I’m just spreading the word, maybe one day someone will PM me telling me what it is.

Holy swirls Batman!! 10k Wgf Longines with sensation downturned lugs and a swirl dial the likes of which I have never seen. This thing is mesmerizing. And it’s one of the slimmest profiles I have seen in a long time- this thing probably hugs the wrist- won’t even feel it.

I just went a bit back in the posts and seeing this one sold just killed me. What a piece for such a bargain! One gotta delete such posts to prevent huge remorses like the one I had ::facepalm1::

Thanks for pointing that out, so the rest can see what we missed.

My first attempt at going solo arrived today and i am pretty happy with it, dropped it off for a service along with the Wittnauer.
Not a brand that i have encountered before, there heyday appears to be around the 40's & 50's.
In good nick despite how it looks in my picture, only a couple of blemishes on the dial & the case/ lugs are sharp.
Decent size at 35mm with hidden crown.

Same dial / furniture and case as a Gruen Precision model from the 60's.

Here it is, a Consul Automatic ( crickets ) How did i do ? $45 does not sound much to me but, what do i know.

I think you did pretty well for $45- assuming it's running. Dial has a nice even patina, lume pips are on the rehaut which is a nice touch (I have a few like this). It was slightly misaligned last time the crystal was off- make sure to look at that when you pick it up from the watchmaker- he should know to align those pips with the dial but I have seen some that have not been done properly and the crystal can shift when using a crystal lift.
Good going Ken! I feel like we have taught someone to fish.

@JwRosenthal many thanks for the kind words and excellent eye.
I had not noticed the misaligned outer part 🤦
It runs but, the seller mentioned an issue with the rotor which hopefully is not serious.
I will update when i hear back from the watchmaker.
