The obvious giveaway is the step over from the bezel to case, typical of these faked bakelite bezels where the bezel is too large for the case.

Great shame as alot of these modified watches would no doubt have been very cool in their original non-franken state. Poor things will never be reunited with their original bezels which served them all these years.

the auction ended a month ago. i just played a joke on the forum to show that great deals can still be had,,,,,truth is though,..the watch is pretty overpriced at the current market price

the really lol thing was the winning bidder didn''t act and bin asap... they submitted a best offer

    i'll pass this one on.

    forsam divers 35mm

i offered 50 several months ago and the seller came back at 65, which is pretty decent deal.

i passed on it. at least you know where you're at if you want it.

seems like a watch if you hated the wear to the case you could break out the spray paint or testors

I see a lot of this type coming out of Italy. Some with the fake Bakelite bezels and some with what appear to be real- always gunshy as I don’t know if they are legit or not

pretty sure that's where they originated. most are easy to spot. this one looks like it works with the watch and i don't think it can be 100% confirmed replacement. i don't think it's a bad thing for this watch either.

seller even increased his price, as he must have gotten many low ball offers.

ha......obv replacement. so nice of the seller to tell us....and he didn't even use the popular japanese disclaimer. "pictures tell the condition of the watch"

i was just about to post this nr auction but i decided to view the sellers previous auction.

low and behold he sold this watch 5 times......so no chance of getting it for a song and dance

    origin-italy...lol

i have to stop doing this in order not to turn this thread into the disgust and fraudulent behavior of ebay

Not bad looking and it looks like an eta in the blurry movement pic. It appears someone tried to scrape some of the moss off the lume- and not too well...or its just a really blotchy mossy. Could clean up a little

I don't trust much(watch wise, a lot of frankens!) coming out of Argentina(and my wife is from there:D), just looked at sellers other items and appears to have a franken or two which would be enough to get my alarm bells ringing. I liked a Tressa LaserBeam watch he had but dial suggests 21 jewels, movement 25 jewels:cautious:

Must be a dead battery, the dial won't light up when he presses the crown.
